NIST Award Audits
NIST Award Audits
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) sponsors the Advanced Technology Program (ATP). The ATP bridges the gap between the research lab and the market place, stimulating prosperity through innovation. Through partnerships with the private sector, ATP's early stage investment is accelerating the development of innovative technologies that promise significant commercial payoffs and widespread benefits for the nation.
Award recipients are not limited in size, but many recipients do not have other government funded awards. As a result they need to be aware and prepared for the unique documentation requirements related to effort reporting, subcontractor management, material consumption, and government furnished equipment under ATP awards.
ML Weekes' capabilities and experience allows us to help recipients develop the procedures and processes to meet the documentation and cost segregation requirements of NIST ATP Awards.
We have extensive experience performing project-related audits, including program-specific audits and attestations required for ATP cooperative agreements. Requirements are generally met by conducting an audit of the ATP financial statement, "Schedule of Fund Sources and Project Costs" and an examination-level attestation engagement of management's assertions regarding compliance with laws and regulations. The audit and attestations are applicable to both single and joint venture agreements and are performed either at the end of the project, or every other year, depending on the project duration.
ML Weekes has performed project-related audits for numerous organizations ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Please contact any of our professional staff to discuss our qualifications and approach.
